High Point Art Teacher Honored as

The Monmouth County Arts Council (MCAC) honored Marianne Petty, Art Teacher at the High Point Adolescent School with a 2007 “Arts Educator” Award. The annual Arts Education Awards highlight outstanding arts education in Monmouth County.


Marianne was lauded for her unique ways of teaching, motivating and inspiring her students in a classroom atmosphere of creativity and acceptance. One student expressed it best, “she teaches us things we will remember for a lifetime.” Marianne has guided the talents of many students. During the 2006-07 school year, two students received the “NJ Governors Award in Art Education,” one was a state finalist in the Teen Arts Competition, and several were winners in the ASAH Poster Competition.
