This American Flag, a thank you gift from the United States Army, was raised on the High Point School campus on May 21, 2006. Helping with the flag raising were Senior High students Kealan D and Brian R along with teacher Margie Smith, teaching assistant Bonnie Anderson, and High Point Adolescent School Principal Wilma Pfeffer.
On Monday, May 22, 2006 a special American Flag was raised on the campus of the High Point School. It was a thank you gift from CW2 Guinzy L. Taylor and the Cavalry Troopers of the United States Army 2nd Squadron 17th Cavalry Regiment, Task Force Sabre, to Miss Margie’s senior high class for their words of kindness and support.
Her students wrote holiday cards to teaching assistant Bonnie Anderson’s cousin who is serving in the United States Army in Iraq.
The American Flag, presented to High Point Students and Staff, flew on a combat mission over Iraq on March 9, 2006 in OH-58D Helicopter 95-0058 during Operation Iraqi Freedom on May 7, 2006. 
This flag will fly on the High Point School flagpole until June 14 which is Flag Day. At this time it will be lowered and preserved. In addition, a special plaque from the United States Army will be on display at the High Point School.
