Using your imagination, coming up with new ideas, and learning to use new tools and media - leather, paint, markers, scissors, pen and ink or fabric – are the focus of the High Point Elementary School Art Education Program.
Art projects often relate to events in the student’s environment in school and within the larger culture. Holiday projects expose children to the ideas and customs of other cultures. Students participate in enhancing the school environment by helping to design and assemble bulletin boards. They also participate in building the sets for the school’s Annual Spring Concert. The backdrops for this collaborative show, created as a mosaic composition made with construction paper, are detailed and beautiful. No matter what the project assigned in Art, the final result is enjoyment and satisfaction.
